The Alfa Romeo Guilia was introduced in 2016 and uses an electric steering rack. These units can fail in a number of ways, the can fail intermittantly with a restart of the vehicle the power steering may return. They can also become noisy when turning left to right. Either of these persistant faults will mean that the steering rack will need to be replaced
