The Alfa Romeo Guilietta was introduced in 2010 and uses an electric steering rack. These units can fail in a number of ways, the can fail intermittantly with a restart of the vehicle the power steering may return. They can also become noisy when turning left to right. Either of these persistant faults will mean a replacement rack is requiried.
