The Audi A1 column was introduced in 2015, made by TRW can fail either intermittently with is usually fixed by switching the ignition off and restarting the car, of it can also suffer and complete loss of power steering, in both instances the red steering wheel light will illuminate on the dash and the steering will be come very stiff and heavy.
The EPS column module can fail and stop communicating with the vehicle, we have also seen faults codes for a problem within the torque sensor.

The solution for these problems is to have the complete steering column for the Audi A1 replaced. Our reconditioned unit that will NOT need any programming but the steering angle sensor will need to reset when fitting this part.
