Info

The Ford Ranger introduced the electric steering rack in 2015.

The steering rack its self, now part electrical contains an ECU, Torque sensor and motor. All of these can lead to different types of problems. Some of the problems that you may find with your steering are;

Either a complete and sudden loss of power steering and a power steering assist failure message on the vehicles info screen, sometimes this loss of assistance is intermittent whereby the steering will fail to initialise when the car is first started and then come back within a few seconds.

The can also suffer from mechanical failures where the unit will become noisy and make a knocking noise.

The units suffer from water ingress due to where they are located on the vehicle, this is what will cause the units to seize and you will suffer a total loss of power steering.

Part numbers for these units can be one of the following:

JB3C-3D070-AF

EB3C-3D070-AH

EB3C-3C497-CA

This is a reconditioning service of your own unit. Once you have purchased the service we will send you out a plastic tote box for you put your unit in.
