Audi electric steering rack, finding your part number

There are two different types of units fitted to most Audi vehicles after 2011. It will always depend on the different vehicle options (PR numbers) that were chosen and fitted on the production line.

If the vehicle was optioned with dynamic steering which has a part number suffix of PR 1N8 then the assistance level of the power steering can be changed whilst driving. The dynamic steering rack also has a quicker ratio from lock to lock being only 2.5 turns.

if the vehicle wasn't optioned with dynamic steering and has standard steering, the part number will have a suffix of PR QZ7. This rack has three turns lock to lock.

The two different types of power steering racks cannot be interchanged so it is vital that that the correct part is identified using the vehicle VIN to find the exact rack needed for the vehicle.
