In 2011 Ford changed the power steering units on the Rangers from a power steering box to a power steering rack.
These can often suffer from, stiffness throughout the steering and a knocking noise coming from inside the unit.
Part numbers for this unit can be any of the following:
AB31-3200-BM
AB31-3200-BH
AB31-3200-BK
If youhave either of these problems you will need a replacement unit.
The steering rack has been completely disassembled, cleaned and examined for wear and breakage. Worn out, missing or non-functioning components have been replaced with new or rebuilt components. It is the functional equivalent of a new part and is virtually indistinguishable from a new part.
