The Jaguar XE was first introduced in 2015, it uses a new style of electric steering rack. However due to where the steering rack is situated on the vehicle there can often be problems with the steering rack. They can suffer badly from water ingress, this can present in different ways either through a groaning noise coming from the steering rack, total loss of power steering or a grinding feeling when turning the steering wheel. When your Jaguar XE is suffering from this issue the steering rack will either need to be replaced or repaired. Unfortunately a repair is not always guaranteed as the damage to the unit can be severe.
They also suffer from an issue where the bolts holding the motor onto the rack sheer off causing the motor to come unattached from the rack causing a loss of steering.
Once you have purchased the service we will send you out a plastic tote box for you put your unit in. Once you have recieved this and the part is ready for us just call us and we will send DPD to collect this item. Our turnaround time is around 20 working days once the unit is in with us. When the units come into us they will be fully tested and inspected to see if they are able to be reconditioned. Often these units suffer greatly with water damage, this may mean that your rack is seized or the motor is cracked, if for any reason we aren't able to successfully recondition your unit due to water ingress to the rack bar, bearing and motor it will mean you need to have a replacement unit, we can either look to source a replacement for you or we can return your unit for a refund, the only charges to pay will be the testing fee of £76 plus carriages. Once you have purchased the service we will contact you via email regarding the dispatch of the tote box.
