Porsche Panamera MK2 971 electric steering rack reconditioning service

The Porsche Panamera was updated in 2017 to the MK2 version, with this update can a new style of electric steering rack. These electric steering racks can fail for a few different reasons. They often suffer from water ingress into the steering rack which can cause the steering to become heavy or make a grinding noise as the steering wheel is turned. The water ingress can also cause issues with the electronic motor that sits on the top of the steering rack, this will often cause the steering light to illuminate on the dash and will give fault codes once the vehicle has been scanned, it can cause the steering to work intermittently or to have now power steering at all . If you have any of these issues we reccomend that you have the steering rack reconditioned.

When the Porsche Panamera 971 electric steering rack comes into us, your rack will have a complete rebuild service. We prefer to do the recondition of your item to ensure that you don't need to reprogram the unit when it comes back to you. This is a reconditioning service of your own unit. Once you have purchased the service we will send you out a tote box for you put your unit in. Once you have received this and the part is ready for us just call us and we will send DPD to collect this item. Our turnaround time is around 20 working days once the unit is in with us. 

If for any reason we aren't able to successfully recondition your unit due to water ingress to the rack bar bearing and motor it will mean you need to have a replacement unit, we can either look to source a replacement for you which will be priced on availability, or we can return your unit for a refund, the only charges to pay will be the testing fee of £76 plus carriages. Once you have purchased the service we will contact you via email regarding the dispatch of the tote box.
