The Mokka was first upgraded to the Mokka X MK2 in 2017, the system used was an electric power steering column. The steering column can fail in many ways, the can be a failure within the torque sensor that can cause an intermittant loss of power steering which can be rectified by turning the ignition on and off again but this can also often develop into a total loss of power steering.
There also will often be lights appearing on the dash to suggest failure within the steering column. This will often mean that you will need to replace the steering column on your Mokka.
No coding or programming will be required, this unit is simply plug and play.
