The Skoda Fabia MK3 column, made by TRW can fail either intermitantly with is usually fixed by switching the ignition off and restarting the car, of it can also suffer and complete loss of power steering, in both instances the red steering wheel light will illuminate on the dash and the steering will be come very stiff and heavy.
The EPS column module can fail and stop communicating with the vehicle, we have also seen faults codes for a problem within the torque sensor.
The solution for these problems is to have the complete steering column for the VW UP replaced. Our reconditioned unit that will NOT need any programming but the steering angle sensor will need to reset when fitting this part.
All of our items are sold on an exchange basis unless otherwise stated, which is included in the price for your unit. All you need to do is call us within 14 days to arrange the pick up of your old item.
This steering column will need to be initialised to the vehicle upon refitting.
Please take a look at our blog for more information on how to do this.
